A Day of Empowerment and Community
This past Sunday, I had the immense honor of being a guest speaker at the Annual Women's Empowerment Luncheon hosted by Nassan’s Place—a heartfelt event celebrating autism moms, caregivers, and the community that supports them.
Held just in time for Mother’s Day, the luncheon was more than a gathering—it was a warm, inspiring space that uplifted voices too often overlooked. I felt privileged to stand beside fellow mothers and changemakers, sharing stories not just of struggle, but of resilience, empowerment, and growth.

Sharing My Journey: Embracing the Silence
As many of you know, my journey as an autism mom has been both beautiful and deeply challenging. It’s what inspired my latest book, Embracing the Silence—a raw and honest reflection on parenting a nonverbal child, navigating the silence between diagnosis and understanding, and finding my own voice through the process.
At the event, I shared excerpts from the book and connected with other mothers who, like me, are walking this complex path of love, advocacy, and constant learning.
Deep Gratitude to Nassan’s Place
Nadine Wright-Arbubakrr, the powerhouse behind Nassan’s Place, created a space where vulnerability was welcomed and authenticity celebrated. I’m incredibly grateful to her for inviting me to speak and allowing me to promote Embracing the Silence among such an extraordinary group of women.
Even more special was the opportunity to gift copies of my book to several moms in attendance. Seeing them hold the book in their hands, knowing that my words might offer comfort or strength—that was the most meaningful part of the day for me.

What I Took Away
What stood out to me the most was the power of community. As mothers, we often carry so much in silence. Events like this remind us that we don’t have to walk this journey alone.
Whether you’re a mother of a child with autism, a caregiver, or someone who simply wants to support the neurodiverse community—there’s a place for you in this conversation.

With Gratitude
To Nadine and everyone at Nassan’s Place: thank you for letting me be part of something so meaningful.
And to all the autism moms reading this—you are seen, you are strong, and you are never truly alone.
With all my heart,
